Dual control of nuclear EIN3 by bifurcate MAPK cascades in [C.sub.2][H.sub.4] signalling
Article Abstract:
The unexpected MAP kinase (MAPK/MPK) cascade promoting ethylene-insensitive 3 (EIN3)-mediated transcription observed in the ethylene ([C.sub.2][H.sub.4]) signalling is discussed. The findings reveal that MAPK cascades exhibit dual control over EIN3 by controlling its quantitative responses, as well as the specificity in signalling networks.

The ERECTA gene regulates plant transpiration efficiency in Arabidopsis
Article Abstract:
The isolation of a gene for regulating transpiration efficiency, ERECTA, is discussed. ERECTA is a putative leucine-rich repeat receptor-like kinase (LRR-RLK) effective for inflorescence development that contributes to a locus for delta on Arabidopsis chromosome 2.

Differential regulation of EIN3 stability by glucose and ethylene signalling in plants
Article Abstract:
Glucose enhances the degradation of Ethylene-Insensitive3 (EIN3), a key transcriptional regulator in ethylene signalling, through the plant glucose sensor hexokinase. The overexpression of EIN3 in transgenic Arabidopsis decreases glucose sensitivity.
